Description

These pecky cypress pieces were found in the lake Maurepas Swamp region in Louisiana. The numerous holes are caused by a mud fungus. A fungus like this take a hundred and thrifty to one hundred and forty years to create these holes. The two pieces were found six months apart roughly a mile in separated location in the same waters. I fit the two pieces together making alternations along the way and creating this unique sculpture. Both these pieces were totally encapsulated in the firm mud and under three feet of water.
