AK O'Brien is a self-taught oil painter who seeks to express emotion and stories through art. As an artist, she doesn't limit her subjects, but she does approach each with a smooth, cohesive style. O'Brien uses a layered approach to increase the depth and atmosphere of her works, at times erasing and repainting entire portions of the piece. Because she uses art as a form of communication, she hopes viewers will take time to engage with the story and continue the conversation.
