I'm Janka Major, I graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2012 with a degree in sculpture. Wood, as a material, is closest to me, mainly because of its "living" nature. Portrait sculpture is central to my artistic activity, I have asked people from my circle of acquaintances to be models for my life-size portraits, which I carved with a chainsaw and chisel. During the process, the laws of nature and human quality are studied through the model. Through the knowledge of the other, we get to know ourselves better too. This kind of connection makes the guideline of my artwork.
